“Ivy, we’re moving to Austin!” he exclaimed.
“Finally! Why don’t you stay with us until you get settled?” I replied.
“Really? You would do that?”
“Absolutely. We have a spare bedroom with its own bath. Of course you can stay with us.”

Rebecca gained employment first; Juston – not so fast. I drove them around Leander, Round Rock and Austin showing them the sites, looking at rentals. They had an old dog and an ancient cat. “Hmmm… had no idea the rental market for houses would be this tight…and this expensive.”
“You can stay with us as long as you need,” I volunteered. They arrived mid-February and moved into their new Round Rock home mid-June.
We ate together – Rebecca is a gluten free, corn free, soy free, dairy free organic vegan from Minnesota. Sometimes she’ll eat fish. We had so much fun trying new recipes and taking old menus and substituting one item with a different ingredient, well a whole bunch of ingredients. Most nights it worked and other nights not so much. We laughed often.
We enjoyed leisurely conversations – what did their new future look like? What got left behind that needed to stay behind? What new challenges lay ahead? How would life be different in Texas? What would be their biggest adjustment?

Rebecca, a professional photographer, snapped fresh photos during one of our near perfect Austin Texas’ sunsets. We posed by stone pillars under majestic oaks. We strolled out in open pastures stirring up dust that glistened in the setting rays.
Juston stained fence planks, pulled weeds, trimmed and mowed spring time growth. As a Journeyman Electrician, he transformed our lighting package and created incredible “wow” factors.
Right after their move, they invited us over. We oohed around each corner. We agreed that moving in always takes a bit longer. We laughed when they told stories of finding some buried treasure packed away in an obscure box. They’re settling in well. Instagram captures their new life in a new place with their old dog and ancient cat…and of course – their new friends.
I’m Ivy Stanton, I’ve moved quite a few times in my lifetime. I do real estate differently. I’m of the mind that people are important, therefore I do all I can to serve well. After all, some of my clients have become my friends.
